Just finished watching

this:
Kubrick's a genius (he did Full Metal Jacket as well, and Lolita, The Shining and 2001: A Space Odyssey). Never seen a more ominous ending to a film than on this. In fact, the whole film's a mindfuck! Seriously though, watch it. Alex is completely captivating! Whoever said it shouldn't be watched is a liar, it's only like a very grown up version of The Prisoner. It won't screw you up, but it definately makes you think.

"I was cured all right..."

Fuckin' messy flatground

Can't wait 'til I can drive

So I can smash the windows playing this:
Eazy E and the 'Pac, fucking killing it.

Idiots.

That shit ain't right.

How is Eminem better than Biggie?! Surely the people voting on this should have at least listened to Ready To Die before voting against him.

Watch this now.

MC Solaar (again)

Powaaa

Nicholls got good music taste

MC Solaar. "The only notable French rapper during the 90s". I borrowed 'Cinquième As' from my French teacher at school, the inimitable Mr. Nicholls, and definately didn't regret it. Despite not understanding a large part of it (it's French rap, they speak quick enough as it is!), his flow and delivery vastly makes up for it, and from the sections I do understand, it's easy to see CA is a really poignant album. Similar to with Method Man and Redman's 'Blackout!', I find it really hard to pick a favourite track, but the title track ('Le Cinquième As') and 'L'Homme Qui Voulait Trois Milliards' (below) are pretty high up there.

(Broken that last one rather a lot of late thanks to the beginnings of hay fever. FH.)
An ordinary phone booth was transformed into an aquarium by artists Benoit Deseille and Benedetto Bufalino as part of the Lyon Light Festival in France.
As the designers stated:
“With the advent of the mobile telephone, telephone booths lie unused. We rediscover this glass cage transformed into an aquarium, full of exotically colored fish; an invitation to escape and travel.”
Saw this as a caption to a photo on the wall of a teahouse in Nepal, and it's probably the best motto I've seen. Living every day as if it's your last doesn't work, because it's a very very small chance it is going to be. Following this, you never stop being your own person, whilst moving away from negative things.

Mos Def

Any man who can be in The Hitchiker's Guide To The Galaxy film as well as having been one of the most influential rappers of the 90s hip hop scene is a good man by my standards!
