Seriously good dance music, made by a Scottish guy who plays exactly what he wants to hear. So it's definately by the people, for the people! According to Wikipedia: "His music is a blend of techno, old school house, punk rock and electro. He is known for energetic and exciting live shows". His first full album, Generation Hexed is well worth a listen, especially if you like house music; 'Science and Reason' is a major highlight for me.
If you like that, listen to Drums of Death Steps Into The Ring, which is along the same lines, again really fun stuff!

Boris Johnson, debates, and dark days in 'Death Valley'
Some photos I liked from the Sunday Times magazine's year's events article.
Boris Johnson flustered over winning the cheerleaders' vote.
Cameron's frustration over Brown's ceaseless mimicking of Cleggyweggy.
A soldier from the Afghan National Army allied with US forces in 'Death Valley' adding a touch of black humour to his life with a halloween mask.

Patrick Melcher
Not only do I want his Salvador Dali moustache and generally sick facial hair, and rad jacket, I want his way of looking at things, especially when it comes to skateboarding.

Hey yo, the Wu is back
The Wu (or as close as you can hope) is back! Ghostface Killah sounds just as sick as he ever did on the new album, 'Apollo Kids', which features old Wu head Method Man, as well as his frequent collaborator Redman, both bringing clever rhymes and easy flows to the track 'Troublemakers', Busta Rhymes with his well-known jerking, powerful delivery on 'Superstar', and other Wu related heads and frequent Ghost collaborators including Raekwon (also on 'Troublemakers', and 'Ghetto'; well known for 'Incarcerated Scarfaces' during Wu Tang Clan's reign), Cappadonna (on 'Black Tequila' and 'Ghetto' here, and famously 'Iron Maiden' with Raekwon and Ghost), and GZA (of 'Liquid Swords' fame, featuring on 'Purified Thoughts' on 'Apollo Kids'). Overall, this is classic Ghostface Killah, with a real old-school feel and a return to the old Wu Tang Clan sound, which is hard to find in 2010, and will be even harder in 2011! Get listening!

Fuck yeah Queen's Royal Lancers
Tonight (monday 20th) at half 8 and repeated at half 11 on the BBC News Channel is a documentary following the lives of soldiers in the Queen's Royal Lancers regiment. It covers their training and life in camp, their operations in Afghanistan, and their return from what has become today's Vietnam. I seriously recommend watching it, especially CCF guys : ) There's also a website (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-12018214) entitled 'Life with the Lancers' which complements the documentary, and has features on all of the above and more. Check it out and support the Lancers!

You never heard of a guy or a team on the scene who could flow like this
The 2010 EP from Flux Pavilion, 'Lines In Wax'. It's so good to hear some dubstep that isn't just a remix for the sake of a remix, and doesn't just have the label of dubstep slapped on to make it cool to listen to, this is actually decent stuff! Plus the title track features Foreign Beggars, which is a definate bonus!

Whale, swim with me
The best track off the album 'The Mistress' in my opinion, but the rest is really nice as well. Kind of Noah and The Whale-esque (ironic!), but it's still nice chilled background music : )

It's Blitz
It's Blitz - Yeah Yeah Yeahs
The 2009 album from Yeah Yeah Yeahs: 'It's Blitz'. Such a good album, everything from the beautiful Skeletons to hyped up Heads Will Roll. Give it a listen!
